Children’s Day at “Atma”, music and art workshops
On the occasion of Children’s Day, we invite you to special music and art workshops at “Atma” on June 1st, 2024. The workshops will take place in three sessions at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM.
Piglet, Cow, Cat, and Bumblebee are workshops where children will have fun with origami, inspired by the characters from Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna’s “Children’s Rhymes”. We will jointly get acquainted with selected poems by the poet and their musical interpretations by Karol Szymanowski. Then the children will create animal figures from colorful paper. The workshops will be led by Katarzyna Wójcik, guide at “Atma”.
What is Music? is a question we will seek to answer during a fun session with simple percussion instruments. The children will have the opportunity to “perform” to highlander music and Karol Szymanowski’s pieces inspired by the culture of Podhale. The workshops will be led by Dr. hab. Małgorzata Janicka-Słysz, Prof. AMKP in Krakow, program curator of “Atma”.

The new educational facility of the Tatra National Park, the Tatra Planet Earth Archive (TAPZ), is open! Located at the mouth of the Kościeliska Valley, TAPZ reveals the secrets of the Tatras using surprising architectural solutions and a thoughtful narrative.
On the occasion of Children’s Day, June 1st, 2024, tickets for everyone cost only 1 PLN! This is a unique opportunity to experience an amazing adventure and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Tatras. Tickets can be purchased at tpn.gov.pl/bilety-tapz – their number is limited, so hurry up!
In TAPZ, through seven halls filled with unique and surprising collections and interactive installations, you will learn about the history of the Tatras and our planet. Visitors will be able to see up close, among other things, a life-sized dinosaur or a cave bear. This is a place where the Tatras, although described and studied, reveal their secrets anew.
The Tatra Planet Earth Archive is located at the entrance to the Kościeliska Valley, right next to the public transport stop (Kościelisko Kiry) and parking lots. Visits are only in groups under the guidance of TAPZ guides. Groups leave every 30 minutes, and the tour lasts about 90 minutes.

Zakopane Days 2024
From June 1st to 9th, the city will be bustling with cultural and sports events as part of Zakopane Days, commemorating the visit of Saint John Paul II in 1997. This is a special time when all of Zakopane becomes a stage for numerous attractions, attracting residents and tourists from all over Poland.
During Zakopane Days, you can participate in a wide range of events. From numerous exhibitions, concerts, and performances to sports competitions and thematic meetings – everyone will find something for themselves. This is also an opportunity to attend the Solemn Session of the Zakopane City Council, during which the annual Mayor of Zakopane Awards are presented, honoring individuals and institutions that have made a significant contribution to the development of the city.
Zakopane shows its multifaceted nature during these days. Highlander folklore intertwines with modern culture, creating a unique atmosphere. Concerts, exhibitions, presentations, and conferences make the city a center of culture, sport, and recreation, emphasizing its importance as a significant tourist and cultural center.

Evening at the Red Manor

Zakopane Cooper Test
We invite all sports enthusiasts, both schools and individuals, to the Zakopane Cooper Test, which will take place on June 14th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the LA stadium of the Central Sports Center in Zakopane.
The Cooper Test is a well-known endurance test developed by American doctor Kenneth Cooper. It involves a 12-minute run without interruption, during which the distance covered is measured. The results are then evaluated based on the participants’ gender and age, allowing for an assessment of physical fitness.

- Individuals (no age restrictions): Registration at the competition office at the LA COS stadium on the day of the event from 9:30 AM.

Małgorzata Markiewicz invites interaction with her works, which is rare in museum spaces. Elements such as black felt hats soaked in tallow and coarse everyday clothes became the inspiration for creating unique artistic objects.
The exhibition is the result of cooperation with local craftsmen and artists, becoming a space for joint work and meetings, inspired by natural and organic materials. Admission to the exhibition is free. It is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of art and highlander tradition in a modern rendition. Exhibition “Romantic Realism of Michał Gąsienica-Szostak”

Exhibition “Children/Grandparents” Natalia Wirmańska, Maciej Wirmański
We invite you to the extraordinary exhibition “Children/Grandparents”, which will take you into the intimate world of memories and emotions of artists Natalia and Maciej Wirmański. This unique exhibition, organized by the Tatra Museum Dr. Tytus Chałubiński and the Tatra Development, Promotion, and Culture Agency, will take place at the Kornel Makuszyński Museum, a branch of the Tatra Museum, at Kazimierza Przerwy-Tetmajera Street in Zakopane.
The exhibition opening will take place on May 13th, 2024, and the works can be admired until June 29th, 2024, daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
“Children/Grandparents” is a unique combination of oil paintings, soundscapes, field recordings, and objects referring to specific places related to the artists’ grandparents’ home and surroundings. In this artistic journey, the Wirmański siblings take us to the place of their childhood idyll, full of memories mixing happiness with the bitterness of passing and generational traumas. Natalia is responsible for the visual part, and Maciej for the audio part, creating a coherent and touching experience together.
The “Children/Grandparents” project is a continuation of Natalia Wirmańska’s diploma work “I Return to Where It Began”, which focuses on private and communal memory of the Polish countryside. In this exhibition, the Wirmański siblings focus on private memories and intimate bonds with their deceased grandparents. This event is perfect for the whole family, including children. Admission to the exhibition is ticketed, so it is worth booking tickets in advance.
Exhibition “Zamoyski – Storehouse of Values”
On the centenary of the death of Count Władysław Zamoyski, who was proclaimed Patron of the Year 2024, the Tatra National Park invites you to a special exhibition “Zamoyski – Storehouse of Values”. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the life and values that guided Count Zamoyski, creating countless works for the development of Zakopane and the protection of the Tatras.
The exhibition will be available daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM until the end of the year! Admission is free, making it an ideal place for a cultural outing for both residents and tourists.
The curators of this extraordinary exhibition are Renata Kowalska and the TPN Education Department, consisting of experts: Beata Bańka, Katarzyna Gąsienica-Mracielnik, Elżbieta Kauzal, Renata Kowalska, Aurelia Reinholz-Rusek, and Grzegorz Strączek-Helios. The artistic installation prepared by Marcin Rząsa and Magdalena Ciszewska-Rząsa adds a unique character to the exhibition, and the poster and invitation design are by Patrycja Rek.

St. John’s Night of Music, a magical musical journey through Zakopane
On June 22nd, 2024, the Zakopane Singing Academy Paulina Martini invites you to a special event – St. John’s Night of Music. This is the first such night in the history of Zakopane, during which music will sound on three different stages, offering diverse climates and unforgettable experiences under the night June sky.
Michael Jackson at Kino Sokół
The St. John’s event will begin at Kino Sokół at 6:00 PM, where the concert “Michael Jackson in Memoriam” will be performed by the students of the Zakopane Singing Academy. Talented young artists will bring the biggest hits of the King of Pop to life, creating an unforgettable tribute to his work.
Nosalowy Dwór and Raz Dwa Trzy
At 8:00 PM, we move to Nosalowy Dwór, where the band RAZ DWA TRZY will perform. In the concert “Important Songs”, the band will play selected tracks from all their studio albums. Under the direction of Adam Nowak, the musicians will take us into a world full of emotions and reflections. Their music, combining various styles from rock to folk and jazz, and rich instrumentation, guarantees a unique evening.
Hotel Hyrny and Jazz Dialogues
To conclude the night, at 11:00 PM, we invite you to Hotel “Hyrny”, where, with good wine, we will listen to piano dialogues performed by excellent pianists Adam Lemańczyk and Adam Szwaj. Jazz tales will be the perfect culmination of the St. John’s Night of Music, lasting until midnight, and maybe until dawn.
Raz Dwa Trzy – Important Songs
The band RAZ DWA TRZY, which began its activity in 1990 in Zielona Góra, has been enjoying great popularity among fans and critics for years. Their music is a mix of various styles, from rock, through bossa nova, to reggae, blues, and jazz. Adam Nowak, the band’s leader, in his lyrics, addresses important and difficult topics, but also everyday ones, giving life color. The concert at Nosalowy Dwór is a unique opportunity to hear the band’s most important songs live.

VII Hasior Run – registration open
The Tatra Museum invites you to the VII Hasior Run, which will take place on June 2nd, 2024, in Zakopane. The event promotes the work and sports career of Władysław Hasior and a healthy lifestyle. The run will start at 9:00 AM at Przewodników Tatrzańskich Street, on a 3 km route. Registration is open until May 30th, with a limit of 300 participants. The entry fee is 50 PLN, and on the day of the competition – 70 PLN. Participants will receive a T-shirt, time measurement chip, and medal.
Competitors will be classified in the open category and by age groups. The organizer provides medical care and transport of deposits. The run will take place regardless of the weather, and the results will be available online.
