On Saturday, June 1st at noon, the “Atma” villa invites families to special workshops on the occasion of Children’s Day. Under the theme “We Play! We Weave!” participants will enter a world of sound and color – inspired by the work of Karol Szymanowski and Zakopane’s handicraft traditions.
The activities will begin with a short musical introduction to the composer’s work, followed by fun, educational and creative sessions led by instructors:
- listening to excerpts from Szymanowski’s compositions,
- playing Carl Orff percussion instruments,
- singing traditional highlander songs,
- weaving a wall hanging using the tapestry technique,
- creating small woven items, such as bookmarks.
The result of the workshop will be a collective tapestry with a motif of poppies and hollyhocks in a blue vase – inspired by an object once owned by Szymanowski. The finished piece will be displayed at the museum, and every participant can sign it as a co-creator.
The event will take place from 12:00 to 14:00 at the Karol Szymanowski Museum in the “Atma” villa on Kasprusie Street. Admission is a symbolic 5 PLN; advance registration by phone or email is required.

On Sunday, June 1st, the Tatra Museum invites families to celebrate Children’s Day together. All museum branches open to the public on that day can be visited free of charge – a great chance to discover the rich culture, nature, and history of Podhale and Spisz.

Termy Górą – Children’s Day 2025 at Zakopane Thermal Baths
On Sunday, June 1st from 10:00 AM, Zakopane Thermal Baths invites all children and families to a special Children’s Day celebration under the slogan “Termy Górą”. This joyful event, held in cooperation with the City of Zakopane, ties into the 13th National Gathering of Large Families.
The day will be full of attractions combining activity, education, and fun in a family-friendly atmosphere.

On Monday, June 2nd, the MOSiR Sports Hall on Chramcówki Street in Zakopane will turn into a colorful center of children’s joy. At exactly 10:00 AM, an energetic event will begin for students in grades 0–3 of primary schools – organized by Zakopane’s MOSiR to celebrate Children’s Day.
Participants can expect plenty of movement and healthy competition in a fun atmosphere. The program includes favorite events such as:
- team tug-of-war,
- sack races,
- obstacle courses,
- basketball shooting.
There will be lots of laughter and cheering throughout, and each child will receive a sweet surprise at the end. Activities run until 1:00 PM, participation is free, and registration is open until May 29th. Don’t wait – places are limited!

Evening at Czerwony Dwór – remembering Zakopane’s first mayor
On Monday, June 2nd at 6:00 PM, the “Czerwony Dwór” villa will host a special event dedicated to Leopold Winnicki – the first mayor of Zakopane. Serving from 1929–1934, he was responsible for Zakopane gaining municipal rights in October 1933.
This evening offers a chance to learn more about this key figure in the town’s history. Winnicki was not just an administrator but a true visionary. He initiated major investments in both infrastructure and culture. Thanks to him, stadiums were built on Rówień Krupowa, international sports competitions were organized, and Zakopane gained a symphony orchestra.
The event will be led by Dr. Piotr Bąk, who will share insights into Winnicki’s life and influence on the town’s pre-war development.

16 x Woman in Zakopane – a story of strength, art, and history
From June 3rd to August 30th, the Władysław hr. Zamoyski Municipal Art Gallery invites you to the next edition of the exhibition “16 x Woman in Zakopane.” It’s an artistic and documentary story about women who, over decades, co-created Zakopane’s cultural and social identity.
The exhibition highlights remarkable figures: artists, doctors, social activists, collectors, and educators. Independent and engaged women who left a lasting mark under Giewont. Among the featured names are Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, Bronisława Dłuska, Halina Kenarowa, and Monika Żeromska.
The exhibition includes works of art, archives, photographs, and documents from several museums and cultural institutions across Poland – including the Tatra Museum, Museum of Literature, Kenar High School, and the Grand Hotel Stamary.

Young Zakopane 2025 – a new voice in art
On June 3rd at 5:00 PM, the exhibition “Young Zakopane 2025” will open at the Stacja Kultura on Chramcówki Street – one of the most intriguing artistic events of this year’s Zakopane Days. This is not just a vernissage, but a space for dialogue and meeting young artists unafraid to speak boldly about the world they see and experience.
The exhibition showcases works by young artists from Zakopane and the surrounding region, created in a variety of techniques – from drawing and painting, through graphics and sculpture, to multimedia and animation. It is, above all, the voice of the younger generation – honest, diverse, full of emotion and exploration.

“Tiny Fairy Tales” – children’s theater in a micro, humorous format
On Wednesday, June 4th, at the Witkacy Atelier Stage in Zakopane, the youngest audience members will be treated to a charming puppet theater full of humor and quirky characters. The Animation Theater from Poznań will present the performance “Tiny Fairy Tales”, designed for children aged 4 to 10.
It features three short, independent stories whose protagonists aren’t kings or princesses but rather Maja the flea, Fiu Fiu the kitty, Zbyszek the bookworm, Patrick the hair, and Romuald the Disappointed Steed. Unusual? That’s the point – these tales are full of imagination, warm humor, and touching moments. Children will learn that even the smallest heroes can live great adventures and have big dreams.
The cast includes actors Marek A. Cyris, Mariola Ryl-Krystianowska, and Marcin Ryl-Krystianowski. The show runs for about 60 minutes and will be performed twice – at 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM. Tickets are available for both individual and group purchase.

XIII National Gathering of Large Families – “Family First” in Zakopane
From June 6th to 8th, Zakopane will host the 13th National Gathering of Large Families – an event that brings families from all over Poland together each year. The motto of this year’s edition, “Family First!”, carries special meaning here – both symbolically and literally, as the gathering takes place at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.
Organized by the Association of Large Families “Three Plus” in cooperation with the City of Zakopane and the Tatra County, the event includes three days of meetings, workshops, and joint celebration. The program features:

On Saturday, June 7th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Zakopane Children’s Day will take place at Lower Rówień Krupowa – one of the most colorful events in town. As every year, it will be a joyful celebration for children, as well as a family gathering full of smiles, fun, and surprises.
Organizers have prepared a wide-ranging program with something for everyone, including:
- animations, sports games, and inflatables,
- face painting, art workshops, reading on the grass,
- artistic performances by children and youth from Zakopane schools,
- demonstrations by police, fire services, mountain rescue (TOPR), sanitary inspection, and more,
- educational, survival, and ecological zones,
- competitions, quizzes, and first aid workshops,
- regional delicacies – pea soup, sweets, and treats,
- meetings with mascots: Fiki-Miki the Monkey, Matołek the Goat, and Termuś.

Open Tennis Tournament for the Mayor’s Cup – a summer of sport on the courts
Throughout the summer, from June to September 2025, the tennis courts in Marshal Józef Piłsudski City Park will be brimming with sports energy. It’s all thanks to the Open Tennis Tournament for the Mayor of Zakopane’s Cup, now a staple in the city’s sports calendar.
The tournament is open to adults and follows a knockout format. Players earn points in each stage to qualify for the grand finale in September. It’s a great challenge – with trophies and prizes waiting for the best, and the final winner receiving the Mayor’s Cup.
