Year-round theatre workshops in English – Let’s touch a magic of theatre!
Stepping onto the stage is always an encounter with magic. This year, young people aged 12 to 18 have a unique opportunity to discover it in English. The Witkacy Theatre invites you to year-round theatre workshops “Let’s touch a magic of theatre!”, led by the actress of this theatre – Joanna Banasik. Classes will take place every Saturday at the Witkacy Atelier from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The organizational meeting is scheduled for September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., and the entire cycle will last until the end of May 2026.
This is a unique opportunity for young enthusiasts who want to combine developing acting skills with improving their English. During the classes, participants will work on short texts, practice voice projection, and learn stage movement. The finale of their work will be a showcase of etudes prepared for June of next year.
The workshops are conducted in English, but if necessary, translation into Polish is available. Intermediate language skills are welcome – but the most important things are openness and the desire for a theatrical adventure. The cost of participation is 50 PLN per month, and admission is based on the order of applications. The number of places is limited, so it’s worth applying quickly.
People and Mountains. Photographs of Władysław Werner 1950–1960
In September, Zakopane invites you on a journey back in time – to the 1950s, when life in the Tatras had a different rhythm and color. On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., the opening of the exhibition “People and Mountains. Photographs of Władysław Werner 1950–1960” will take place at STRH Bistro Art Cafe.
The exhibition will feature 20 selected photographs by this outstanding photographer, who for years documented everyday life in Podhale. The scenes he captured show residents and tourists – at work, at rest, and in contact with the majesty of the mountain landscape. These are images that not only capture a moment but also tell the story of the region’s identity and the extraordinary bond between people and the Tatras.
Władysław Werner lived in Zakopane from 1949, working as a photojournalist and collaborating with the press and publishing houses. He was a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, and his rich legacy remains an invaluable record of the history of the mountains and their inhabitants.
The exhibition can be viewed at STRH Bistro Art Cafe at 4a Krupówki Street until September 30, 2025. Admission is free, and the place – modern yet intimate – creates the perfect space for experiencing art and reflecting on the past of Podhale.

Oreada band concert in Zakopane
On Friday, September 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Culture Station Zakopane – Kawa & Kultura Café at 35 Chramcówki Street – the band Oreada will perform, a group that has been conquering the Polish folk-alternative scene for several years.
Their music is an element that combines folk motifs with rock energy, and the authenticity and charisma of the musicians turn every concert into an extraordinary encounter with sound and emotion. Oreada has over 200 performances to their credit, a mini album, the award-winning record “Mówili mi ludzie,” as well as acclaimed sessions and singles featured on Spotify’s most important playlists. Their latest songs announce the band’s second album, scheduled for release this fall.

Open Day at Witkacy Atelier
On September 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz Theatre invites you to a special Open Day at the Atelier space. It is an opportunity to peek behind the scenes, view an exhibition of artworks created by workshop participants, and take part in sessions led by the theatre’s actors and instructors.
The program will include, among others, theatre classes in English, acting workshops, dance theatre, and dance workshops. The entire event takes the form of open sessions – anyone can try their hand and feel the unique atmosphere of creative work. The event is free and open to everyone – both children and adults. It’s a great idea for spending a Saturday in Zakopane surrounded by art and theatre.
Final concert: Trebunie-Tutki
On September 6, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. at the “U Wnuka” House at 8 Kościeliska Street in Zakopane, the final concert of the “Music at Wnuka” series will take place. The concert will feature Trebunie-Tutki – one of the most recognizable highlander bands in Poland, whose work has long combined Podhale tradition with modern sounds.

Warroza and Kompromitacja at Cafe Piano
On September 6, 2025, Zakopane’s Cafe Piano will turn into a stage for alternative sounds. It’s an evening for those who enjoy strong music, sincerity of expression, and concert energy. At 8:00 p.m., Warroza – a cold wave/post-punk band from Bochnia – will perform, known for their hypnotic sound and raw energy that works perfectly live.
Next, at 9:00 p.m., the band Kompromitacja will take over the stage – a formation that, in its simplicity and punk directness, knows how to move and stir any crowd.
The organizers jokingly announce that the concert will end at 10:01 p.m., when the Harkabuz Volunteer Fire Department will show up “to quell the riots.” Admission is free, and the event promises to be an intense musical meeting, allowing you to end the first September weekend in a strong, alternative style.
5th Anniversary of the Men’s Rosary in Zakopane
On Saturday, September 6, 2025, the first Saturday of the month, celebrations of the 5th anniversary of the Men’s Rosary Initiative in Zakopane will take place. This prayer meeting will be a time of reparation and consolation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The faithful will gather to pray the rosary together and celebrate the anniversary of the initiative, which for five years has united men in Podhale in prayer.
Year-round dance workshops for children 9+
On September 12, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., an organizational meeting for participants of year-round dance workshops led by Kamil Joński – actor and dancer of the Witkacy Theatre – will take place at the Witkacy Atelier. From that day, every Friday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., children aged 9 and above will be able to develop their dance skills in this unique theatrical space.
The workshops are for those who enjoy movement and want to try different dance styles. Participants will learn techniques of contemporary dance, modern jazz, and street dance, as well as acrobatic elements and breakdance. Each Friday evening will become an opportunity for fun but also for working on fitness and body awareness. Classes will include warm-up, repeating choreography from previous sessions, learning new routines, and final stretching. The cycle will last until May 31, 2026, culminating in a presentation of the results of their work.
The cost of participation is 50 PLN per month. Admission is based on the order of applications, so it’s worth signing up quickly. It’s a great opportunity for young people to combine learning dance with the joy of creation and spend Friday afternoons in the creative atmosphere of the Witkacy Theatre.
Rita Sacchetto. Dance images of modernity
On September 12, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the main building of the Tatra Museum at 10 Krupówki Street, an event dedicated to the extraordinary figure of Rita Sacchetto will take place. This event, accompanying the temporary exhibition “August Zamoyski. Thinking in Stone,” will introduce the artist who combined the world of dance, cinema, and art, while also being the inspiration and wife of the outstanding sculptor.
During the meeting, Dr. Małgorzata Geron will talk about Sacchetto as a dancer and silent film actress, but also as an enterprising woman running her own dance school. Special attention will be paid to Zakopane-related threads – the “Forma” villa, where Rita and August Zamoyski hosted members of the artistic elite of the time. It was here that ideas were exchanged which co-created the atmosphere of interwar Zakopane, strongly linked to the Formist movement.
This meeting will not only be an opportunity to learn more about the history of this remarkable woman but also to immerse yourself in the artistic climate of old Zakopane. Admission is free – the event is part of the Tatra Museum’s promotion.
Conference “Advances in Gynecologic Oncology” in Zakopane
On September 11–12, 2025, the 29th edition of the Scientific Conference “Advances in Gynecologic Oncology” will take place at the Bachleda Hotel Kasprowy in Zakopane. This prestigious meeting, which gathers specialists from all over Poland each year, is devoted to the latest directions in research and clinical practice in gynecologic oncology.
The conference is aimed at gynecologists, obstetricians, gynecologic oncologists, radiotherapists, chemotherapists, radiologists, and nurses. Its purpose is to exchange experiences, present current medical achievements, and emphasize the role of teamwork in patient care. The main theme of this year’s meeting will be comprehensive care for women – from prevention, through diagnosis, to modern therapy methods.
During the two-day program, participants will have the opportunity to take part in scientific sessions, discussion panels, and practical workshops. This year, a special session dedicated to nurses and midwives is also planned, as well as an additional self-defense course conducted by Ju Jitsu trainer Dr. Grzegorz Kuzara.

On September 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Dolna Rówień Krupowa in Zakopane will turn into a royal feast full of flavors, aromas, and colors. This is where the 20th Małopolska Festival of Taste will take place – a special edition marking the Millennium of the Polish Kingdom.
Participants will embark on a culinary journey through the ages – from Old Polish dishes served at royal banquets to modern interpretations of traditional flavors. Rural Housewives’ Circles will present their signature dishes, with the best competing for the title of the tastiest festival dish. There will also be artisanal bread, honey, cold cuts, cheeses, and preserves – everything that constitutes the essence of Małopolska’s culinary heritage.
Festival-goers will be guided by renowned chefs – Andrzej Polan and Pascal Brodnicki – who will host cooking shows and workshops. It’s a perfect opportunity to observe the secrets of their craft and taste extraordinary flavors inspired by history.
For the youngest, a special play zone with animations, contests, and workshops is prepared, while entire families can take part in Małopolska knowledge quizzes and joint celebrations. Sybirak Day in Zakopane
The World Day of the Sybirak, commemorated annually on the anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland, is an important moment of memory and reflection. This year marks the 84th anniversary, and Zakopane joins the ceremonies that will bring together residents and guests wishing to honor the victims of deportations.
The celebrations will begin on September 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with a Holy Mass for the Sybiraks in the Old Church at Kościeliska Street. Then, participants will proceed to the Old Cemetery at Pęksowy Brzyzek, where flowers will be laid at the symbolic grave of the Sybiraks and a memory flame will burn for those who never returned from exile.
The ceremonies will conclude with an artistic performance highlighting the significance of this special day and offering a reflective ending to the gathering.
Nosework competition in Zakopane – “Nose in the school desk”
September in Zakopane smells not only of autumn and back-to-school season but also… cinnamon, orange, and cloves! On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., a unique Nosework competition – detective challenges for dogs and their handlers in a school setting – will be held at the Primary School in Zakopane.
Participants will be able to try their hand in several categories: from searches in classrooms, through locating scents hidden in containers of water, to a school vehicle and outdoor areas. There will also be searches among teaching aids turned into scented puzzles.
The competition has a training character, so everyone can take part – without the need for official exams. What matters is the dog’s perceptiveness, nose, and good cooperation with the handler. Starter packs await participants, and the best will win medals and prizes.
The participation fee is 150 PLN, with registration open until September 10, 2025. The event will be led by certified Nosework Polska instructor – Magdalena Pabis. It’s a great opportunity to spend a day in Zakopane in a slightly different way – combining the school atmosphere with fun and sporting rivalry alongside four-legged friends.
Varius Manx & Kasia Stankiewicz – Jubilee concert in Zakopane

Małopolska Researchers’ Night for the first time in Zakopane
Under the Tatras, science will meet art and local heritage. On September 27, 2025, Zakopane joins the group of cities organizing the Małopolska Researchers’ Night. This extraordinary event, which has attracted thousands of people for years, will be hosted for the first time at the Tatra Museum, offering a rich program for both children and adults.
Numerous workshops, educational games, and demonstrations will allow participants to discover the secrets of nature and Podhale culture. There will be an opportunity to prepare biological samples and view them under a microscope, observe insects that damage museum exhibits, or learn the secrets of traditional highlander clothing. A special attraction will be an evening walk with a chiropterologist, during which participants will set out into the field to observe bats.
The program of the Małopolska Researchers’ Night in Zakopane includes, among others:
