The main part of this year’s edition will last from May 1 to 3 and will fill Zakopane with high-level concerts. Each day offers a different atmosphere and diverse sounds – from classics of Polish jazz, through international inspirations, to powerful final accents.

The story of Emi, played by Hanna Zbyryt, takes the audience from Zakopane all the way to the Baltic Sea, with each stage of the journey told through music and emotions. On stage, we will hear original songs combining pop, latino swing, and jazz. It is an intimate, atmospheric proposal for a May weekend evening for those looking for more than just a regular concert in culture.

Exhibition “Jan Kasprowicz. At the Bonfire. Biographical Impressions”

From May 2 at the Kornel Makuszyński Museum in Zakopane, you can visit a special exhibition dedicated to Jan Kasprowicz, prepared on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death. It is not only a tribute to the author of the “Hymns” but also an attempt to show how his work and life choices can resonate with contemporary audiences.

The exhibition guides viewers through the poet’s journey – from humble beginnings to artistic fulfillment, which he found right under the Tatras. The guiding motif is travel and the symbolism of fire, which accompanied his life and work.

At the exhibition, you will see not only memorabilia related to Kasprowicz but also works by outstanding artists from different eras that dialogue with his poetry and touch on timeless themes. This is a proposal for those who want to slow down for a moment and look at Zakopane from a more reflective perspective. The exhibition will be available until October 10, 2026.

235th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Constitution of May 3

May 3 in Zakopane is a day of special significance, which every year brings together residents and guests under the Tatras. The celebrations of the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of May 3 are an opportunity to jointly celebrate one of the most important events in Polish history.

The constitution adopted in 1791 was the first document of its kind in Europe and a symbol of aspirations for a modern state. Today, its anniversary reminds us of values that remain relevant. In Zakopane, the celebrations have a solemn yet very local character. It is a good moment to pause for a while, feel the sense of community, and take part in events that combine tradition with highlander hospitality.

The meeting will transport participants to the world of old tales and highlander stories that inspired, among others, Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer. The program will include memories, stories, and reflections on the legacy left by Obrochta. The evening will be hosted by Adam Kitkowski, and the whole event promises to be an intimate and atmospheric meeting for lovers of local history and culture.

The meeting will be an opportunity to discover a lesser-known chapter in the history of Polish culture – full of travels, artistic impulses, and extraordinary places. It is an intimate proposal for an evening for those who like to combine mountain vibes with stories about the world.

Opening of the exhibition Young Zakopane. Dialogue 2026

Opening of the Exhibition “Young Zakopane. Dialogue”

On May 8 at 5:00 PM at Stacja Kultura Zakopane, the opening of the exhibition “Young Zakopane. Dialogue” will take place. It is a meeting of three young artists who, in a fresh and bold way, engage in dialogue with the heritage of Podhale, showing it in a completely new light.

The works of Jan Gąsienicyn, Michał Ptak, and Katarzyna Staszel-Chmiel create a coherent yet diverse story about the relationship between tradition and modernity. The artists do not treat the region’s culture as a closed chapter of history – on the contrary, they reinterpret it, juxtapose it with modern forms, and seek its place in today’s world.

This is a proposal for everyone who wants to see Zakopane from a different perspective – more contemporary, sometimes surprising, but strongly rooted in local identity. The exhibition is also the result of last year’s “Young Zakopane” competition, which further emphasizes its freshness and relevance.

The exhibition can be viewed from May 11 until July 10, 2026, providing a good opportunity to include it in your spring or summer stay under the Tatras.

21st Tatra Rally of Historic Vehicles

It is a meeting of three artistic personalities – Jan Gąsienicyn, Michał Ptak, and Katarzyna Staszel-Chmiel – for whom tradition is a starting point for further exploration.

The exhibition tells the story of the relationship between what is old and what is contemporary. The artists draw on local motifs but do not copy them directly – they reinterpret them, combine them with modern forms, and give them new meanings.

This is a proposal for those who want to see Zakopane from a different perspective – more contemporary, sometimes surprising, but still deeply rooted in regional identity. The exhibition will last until July 10, 2026, and is open to visitors on weekdays.

Opening and Exhibition “Underground – A World Torn from Darkness”

On May 16 at 5:00 PM at the Main Building of the Tatra Museum on Krupówki, the opening of the exhibition “Underground – A World Torn from Darkness” will take place. The event will be one of the main highlights of Museum Night and a great opportunity to be among the first to see the brand new exhibition.

The exhibition itself takes visitors into the world hidden beneath the surface – full of mysteries, inaccessible spaces, and phenomena that usually remain beyond our reach. The underground is shown here broadly, not only as caves, grottos, or mine shafts, but also as a kind of “hidden reality” in which human life and activity follow completely different rules.

The exhibition combines many perspectives and allows you to look at this extraordinary microcosm from different angles. You will find, among others:

  • geological threads – how caves and underground structures are formed
  • stories of exploration and underground research
