“Janina Maślanka. Light of the Heart – Glass Painting” exhibition at Czerwony Dwór
At the Centre of Native Culture in the Czerwony Dwór villa, a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the work of Janina Maślanka is being presented. The artist has been associated with the Podhale region for many years and is valued for her glass painting. The exhibition recalls the rich artistic output of the author, who successfully participated in numerous nationwide competitions and for decades co-created the local folk art community.
The exhibition features works showing the most important themes present in her art – from sacred motifs such as Madonnas, angels, and saints, to genre scenes and more reflective compositions. Altogether, they create a coherent story about life, faith, and everyday reality in Podhale, seen from the personal and often very sensitive perspective of the artist.
Janina Maślanka’s works stood out for their high technical craftsmanship and distinctive style, combining the traditional aesthetics of glass painting with an individual commentary on the surrounding reality. Thanks to this, the exhibition will appeal not only to lovers of sacred and folk art, but also to those seeking a deeper insight into local cultural heritage. The exhibition opening is scheduled for January 23, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The exhibition will be open from January 24 to March 21, 2026, from Monday to Saturday, excluding Wednesdays, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Admission is free and also available for children.

The exhibition offers insight into their sensitivity, imagination, and individual inspirations.
Visitors can see works created in all school studios – from sculpture and painting, through drawing and graphic art, to photography, artistic textiles, and digital techniques. The diversity of forms, materials, and topics shows how broad the spectrum of opportunities offered by artistic education in Zakopane is. It is a meeting with energy, fresh perspectives, and the courage to experiment.
The exhibition also testifies to the vitality of the school itself, which continues to inspire successive generations of students to engage in creative dialogue with tradition and modernity. Mountains and the sea appear here not only as motifs, but above all as metaphors for extreme experiences and ways of thinking about the world. The exhibition shows how different attitudes, aesthetics, and sensibilities can complement one another, creating a coherent—though tension-filled—narrative. The works on display—from painting and sculpture to more contemporary forms—place the viewer between nature and culture, encouraging personal reflection.
The exhibition opening will take place on February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Admission is free, and the exhibition will be accessible to a wide audience, including younger visitors.

Teddy Bear Stramuś Cup – what a race day under Nosal looks like
The Teddy Bear Stramuś Cup is not just the competition itself, but an all-day event planned in detail so that every child can take part in a calm and safe atmosphere. The rivalry takes place in several blocks, divided into recreational skiing, club skiing, snowboarding, and the Family Cup. All competitions are held on February 21, 2026 at the Nosal Ski Training Center.
The race day begins with the youngest participants, and subsequent categories enter the slope according to the schedule. From the moment children familiarize themselves with the course until the end of their runs, they remain under the care of instructors or coaches, allowing parents to cheer calmly from the side. After finishing in a given category, each participant receives a commemorative medal and a participation prize.
The key stages of the Teddy Bear Stramuś Cup race day:
- 10:00 AM – start of the CLUB category (skis) on slope PI, with children up to 10 years old
- 10:30 AM – start of the RECREATION category (skis) on slope PV, divided into age groups and successive birth years
- 11:30 AM – start of the SNOWBOARD competition and the Family Cup on slope PI
- 2:00 PM – official awards ceremony for all categories on the main stage
- around 3:00 PM – prize draw among participants
Recreational competitions are run in several time blocks, so even the youngest children have comfortable старт conditions. The youngest racers compete on a shortened course, while older age groups run a full slalom setup. A similar scheme applies in snowboarding, where subsequent birth years start one after another.
The Family Cup, which has long been one of the most popular parts of the event, allows a child and one parent to start together. It is often the most emotional moment and shows that the Teddy Bear Stramuś Cup is not only about competition, but above all a family celebration of sport.
Everything ends with a joint awards ceremony, handing out prizes, and a raffle for gifts, which only people present on site can join. Thanks to this, the race day feels like a closed, coherent event that has been attracting hundreds of young skiers and snowboarders and their families to Nosal for years.
