In June 2026, Zakopane will once again be filled with events that will attract both residents and tourists seeking attractions in the Tatras foothills. The calendar will feature concerts, exhibitions, sports events, family workshops, and culinary festivals, as well as meetings related to history, culture, and local tradition. We have checked what will be happening in the city and selected the most interesting proposals worth adding to your June plan.

Ceremony for the 40th Anniversary of Bringing Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer’s Ashes to Zakopane
On June 2, Zakopane will commemorate the 40th anniversary of bringing the ashes of Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer to Pęksowy Brzyzek during special celebrations as part of Zakopane Days. The event will provide an opportunity to remember the poet, who was particularly connected with Podhale, the author of “The Legend of the Tatras” and one of the most important writers describing the Tatra landscape and the region’s culture. The celebrations will begin at 4:30 PM at the Old Cemetery on Pęksowy Brzyzek at the poet’s grave.
In the evening, at 6:00 PM at Kino Sokół, ul. Orkana 2, the word-and-music performance “Błękitne zadumanie” (Blue Contemplation) will take place. The concert will combine music inspired by Tetmajer’s life and work with recitations of his texts, creating an atmospheric story about the poet and Podhale. This is a proposal for everyone who wants to view the history of Zakopane and the region through the lens of literature, music, and local tradition.

“How the Train Arrived in Zakopane?” Workshop
The Stefan Żeromski Municipal Public Library in Zakopane invites children from the age of 7 and youth to the literary-educational workshop “How the Train Arrived in Zakopane?”. Participants will learn the history of the first railway in the Tatras, see archival photographs of old Zakopane, and discover what mountain travel looked like before modern roads led to the city. It is an opportunity to look at Zakopane’s history from a different perspective and discover the enormous importance of launching the railway connection for the city’s development and tourism in the Tatras.
The workshop will also include creative fun. Children will jointly create their own “train to Zakopane”, while learning interesting facts about past travel and the daily life of the region’s inhabitants. The meeting combines education with good fun, making it an excellent afternoon proposal for young history enthusiasts and explorers of local curiosities. The workshop will take place on June 2 at 3:00 PM at the library at ul. Chramcówki 35a, and participation is free.
Street Food Polska Festival in Zakopane
Flavors from around the world will return to the Tatras foothills. From June 4 to 7, the Street Food Polska Festival will take place at Górna Równia Krupowa, turning the city center into a culinary space full of aromas, music, and family atmosphere as part of Zakopane Days. Visitors will find food trucks serving Spanish, American, Asian, Greek, and Polish cuisine, in both meat and vegetarian versions.
This is a proposal not only for food lovers, but also for those seeking a relaxed atmosphere and urban vibe. In addition to culinary delights, the organizers announce additional attractions, including DJ music, a cooking show, a children’s zone, and competitions. The festival will run from Thursday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while on Sunday the food trucks will be open from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Sculptures by Stanisław Cukier at Villa Czerwony Dwór
Art lovers and fans of Zakopane’s artistic community should pay attention to the new exhibition at Villa Czerwony Dwór. On June 6 at 5:00 PM, the vernissage of the exhibition “In Between. Stanisław Cukier. Sculpture” will take place, presenting the work of one of the most recognizable contemporary sculptors associated with Zakopane. The exhibition will be an opportunity to meet the artist’s works, whose art has long referred to humans, emotions, and relationships, with the central motif remaining the human figure depicted in a spare, symbolic form.
Stanisław Cukier, a graduate of Zakopane’s “Kenar” school and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, was also involved in art education in the region for many years. His works have been presented at numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and some have entered important museum collections. The vernissage will be held at the Center for Native Culture in Villa Czerwony Dwór at ul. Kasprusi 27 and will be a great opportunity to see contemporary sculpture in the unique space of Zakopane’s cultural landscape.
Children’s Workshops as Part of Zakopane Days
Klubokawiarnia Stacja Kultura Zakopane invites the youngest to special workshops as part of Zakopane Days, which on June 6 will fill the space with experiments, fun, and scientific discoveries. Sessions led by Pani Proton will allow children to travel to the world of dinosaurs and magical experiences, combining science with creative entertainment.
The program includes:
- “Dinosaur Island” at 10:00 AM for children from 4 years old, during which participants will discover the prehistoric world, create volcanoes, and take part in experiments,
- “In Hogwarts” at 11:30 AM for children from 6 years old, inspired by the world of wizards and full of colorful potions and spectacular experiments,
- free participation in the workshops after prior registration.
The workshops will take place at Klubokawiarnia Stacja Kultura Zakopane at ul. Chramcówki 35 and will be an interesting proposal for children who like to spend time actively and creatively.
“TOGETHER! Zakopane Artists” Exhibition
After a break due to changes and reorganization, the Władysław Count Zamoyski Municipal Art Gallery is once again opening its spaces to contemporary art lovers. In June, the gallery invites visitors to the exhibition “TOGETHER! Zakopane Artists”, which will become a symbolic welcome to the public and an opportunity to meet the work of the local artistic community. The exhibition will feature works by several dozen artists associated with Zakopane, representing different styles, techniques, and perspectives on art.
The exhibition will be an opportunity to see how diverse and vibrant the Zakopane artistic community remains, as well as to revisit one of the most important places on the city’s cultural map. The vernissage is scheduled for June 5 at 5:00 PM, while the exhibition can be viewed from June 6 to July 25 at ul. Krupówki 41. Admission to the event is free.
Zakopane Cooper Test
Fitness enthusiasts and those seeking sports challenges will once again be able to test their form during the Zakopane Cooper Test, organized by MOSIR Zakopane as part of Zakopane Days 2026. This event is aimed at both regular athletes and those who simply want to find out what their fitness level is. The task is simple – in 12 minutes, cover the longest possible distance by running or walking; the result allows assessment of overall physical fitness.

- The event will take place on June 10 at the “Orkana” city stadium,
- 1st round at 10:00 AM is mainly aimed at school students, but individuals can also participate,
- 2nd round from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM is intended for individual participants,
- Participation is free, and each participant will receive a certificate with their result,
- Pre-registration is possible, but some registrations will also be accepted on site.
This is a great opportunity to spend the day actively, test your abilities, and compete against your own records in a sporting atmosphere under the Tatras.
Tatra Fest 2026 – Three Days of Sports Emotions, Mountain Challenges, and Family Attractions in the Tatras Foothills
Zakopane will once again become the arena for one of the most spectacular sports and outdoor events in the region. On June 12–14, Tatra Fest 2026 will take place – a three-day festival combining mountain running, climbing, cycling challenges, trekking, urban sports, and family activities in the heart of Podhale. The organizers promise not only high-level sports competition but also numerous accompanying events, workshops, and attractions for residents and tourists. The program includes spectacular competitions for professionals as well as proposals for those who simply want to spend time actively in the Tatras.
Tatra Fest has long attracted mountain lovers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, and families, creating an event that combines sport with mountain culture and the atmosphere of Zakopane. Participants can look forward to mountain runs of varying difficulty levels, sport climbing, a cycling rally, terrain trips, children’s competitions, and numerous events taking place in the City Park, at Wielka Krokiew, Plac Niepodległości, and in the Tatra valleys.
Tatra Fest 2026 Program – Key Events
Friday, June 12
The festival will begin with the first activities related to climbing, workshops, and mountain culture. The program will include workshops on making shepherd’s instruments, glass painting, and the first Tatra Fest Street and X-KIDS events. In the evening, there will be sports shows and competitions to kick off a weekend full of activity.
Saturday, June 13
Saturday promises to be the most intense day of the festival. Early in the morning, the legendary TATRA FEST RUN 68 km will start through the high mountain trails of the Western Tatras, considered one of the most demanding challenges for experienced mountain runners. At Wielka Krokiew, TATRA FEST VERTICAL by TAURON – a dynamic uphill run – will take place, and Plac Niepodległości will host the European Junior Championships in speed climbing.
There will also be proposals for families and those seeking a calmer pace. The City Park will feature a children’s zone, animations, competitions, family activities, terrain workshops, and X-KIDS competitions on skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters. Mountain guided tours, mountain safety workshops, and meetings on Carpathian culture are also planned. In the evening, participants will gather for the awards ceremony and the musical finale of the day.
Sunday, June 14
The last day of the festival will mainly belong to runners and families. TATRA FEST RUN races over distances of 11 and 22 kilometers will take place on picturesque routes surrounded by the Tatras. Family activity zones, children’s running competitions, creative workshops, and the continuation of X-KIDS will return to the City Park, ensuring the youngest also have something for themselves.

X-KIDS Zakopane 2026 – Sports Day for Children and Youth
Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and lots of sports emotions – this is what X-KIDS Zakopane 2026 promises. The event will take place on June 13 at Zako Bowl. It is aimed primarily at children and youth up to 16 years old who want to spend time actively, try new activities, or simply have fun in a sporting atmosphere. The organizers have prepared a day full of rides, workshops, competitions, and shows in a relaxed, holiday atmosphere.
Participants can look forward to sports competitions and fun on skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters, basics for beginners, as well as prizes and additional attractions. There will also be music, a shared play zone, and an opportunity to meet other young enthusiasts of urban sports. The event will take place on June 13 at Zako Bowl on ul. Grunwaldzka and will be a great opportunity to actively start the summer season in the Tatras.
L’Étape Poland by Tour de France 2026 – Cycling Emotions in Zakopane
Zakopane will once again host one of the world’s most prestigious amateur cycling events. On June 13–14, the L’Étape Poland by Tour de France stage will take place in the Tatras foothills, attracting both experienced cyclists and cycling enthusiasts who want to experience the atmosphere of the legendary Tour de France. For two days, the city will become a cycling center full of sports emotions, accompanying events, and family attractions.
The most important competition day will be Sunday, June 14, when participants will set off on two routes through the picturesque surroundings of Podhale. The organizers have prepared the “The Race” distance of 107 km with approx. 1600 meters of elevation for more advanced participants and the shorter “The Ride” route of 51 km for those wanting a less demanding format. The races are scheduled to start at 8:00 AM.
The cycling celebration will begin the day before. On Saturday, June 13, family events including Family Ride and races for the youngest are planned, and L’Étape Village will operate at Górna Równia Krupowa – a meeting zone, partner presentations, fan attractions, and a space inspired by the history of the Tour de France. This is a great opportunity to feel the atmosphere of a major cycling event even without participating in the race.
XXXII Tatra Scientific Symposium “Education of Tomorrow”
Zakopane will once again become a meeting place for the scientific and educational community from all over Poland. On June 15–17, the XXXII Tatra Scientific Symposium “Education of Tomorrow” will be held at the Hyrny Conference and Recreation Center. The event is dedicated to contemporary challenges in education, upbringing, and the development of the school system. For years, it has attracted scientists, teachers, educators, and people involved in education, creating a space for experience exchange and discussions on the directions of change in Polish schools.
The program will include lectures, thematic sessions, and discussions on topics such as new technologies in education, mental health of children and youth, future competencies, and challenges related to upbringing and student safety. The symposium will take place on June 15–17 at the Hyrny center and will be an opportunity to connect practice with science and reflect together on the future of education.
Vernissage of the Exhibition “Our Thing. 150 Years Since the Founding of the Woodcarving School”
Lovers of Zakopane’s history, art, and craftsmanship should not miss the vernissage of the exhibition “Our Thing. 150 Years Since the Founding of the Woodcarving School”, which will take place on June 19 at the Art Gallery in Villa Oksza. The exhibition inaugurates the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Wood Industry School, now operating as the Antoni Kenar School of Fine Arts Complex, reminding us of the enormous influence this institution had on the development of the Zakopane Style and local artistic craftsmanship. It is a great opportunity to look at the history of the place that shaped the artistic character of Podhale for decades. The vernissage will take place on Friday, June 19 at 6:00 PM at the Art Gallery in Villa Oksza at ul. Zamoyskiego 25.
“Południowy. Maciej Lipina” Concert
Fans of folk-rock sounds and atmospheric concerts should mark the evening of June 19 in their calendars. Maciej Lipina – a vocalist, guitarist, and composer known for his original work combining Silesian blues-rock, folk, and inspirations from the music of the southern United States – will perform at Klubokawiarnia Stacja Kultura Zakopane. The artist will present material from the album “Południowy”, which takes listeners on an emotional journey through stories of everyday life, spirituality, freedom, and the search for one’s own place.
The concert will be an opportunity to get to know music full of atmospheric sounds, personal lyrics, and musical stories inspired by the Silesian landscape and culture. The event will take place on June 19 at 7:00 PM at Klubokawiarnia Stacja Kultura Zakopane at ul. Chramcówki 35, and admission is free.
Weaving Course and Workshop “Jan Kasprowicz – Life and Work – Inspirations”
Craft and creative activity enthusiasts will be able to take part in the weaving course “Jan Kasprowicz – Life and Work – Inspirations” in June, organized by the Szpulki Association named after Maria Bujakowa in Zakopane. The event is part of the Jubilee Year of Jan Kasprowicz 2026 and accompanies a competition inspired by the poet’s life and work. It is a proposal for both those interested in traditional crafts and those who want to spend time creatively and try their hand at weaving techniques.

Before the holidays, Klubokawiarnia Stacja Kultura will invite art lovers to the vernissage of the exhibition “Illusion of Freedom” by Paulina Martyniak. The space located in the Zakopane railway station building has focused on diverse artistic events and meetings with creators since the beginning of its activity, and the new exhibition will be another opportunity to visit this increasingly active place on the city’s cultural map. It is a proposal for those who like to discover contemporary art in a less formal, intimate atmosphere. The vernissage will take place on Friday, June 26 at 5:00 PM at Klubokawiarnia Stacja Kultura at ul. Chramcówki 35.
Vernissage of the Exhibition “Black and White Madness. Tatras, Modernism, Photography”
The Tatras, photography, and a modernist view of Zakopane will meet during the vernissage of the exhibition “Black and White Madness. Tatras, Modernism, Photography”, which will take place on June 27 at the Main Building of the Tatra Museum. The new exhibition will take visitors into the world of black-and-white frames and stories about mountains, art, and cultural transformations that have co-created Zakopane’s unique character for years. An evening full of music, common singing, and a peaceful atmosphere awaits participants of the event “Circle of Common Singing – Songs of the World and Slavic Mantras”, which will take place on June 28 at 7:00 PM at ul. Orkana 2. The meeting will be an opportunity for joint singing of songs inspired by various world cultures and Slavic mantras in an open and free format. The organizers emphasize that no musical experience is required – what matters most is the willingness to spend time together and openness to new sounds.

At the end of May, Zakopane will once again begin celebrating its days, transforming the city into a space of concerts, sports events, and cultural meetings. The event will start on May 28, but residents and tourists will be able to enjoy the attractions even after the end of the month, as the event will last until June 9, 2026. This is one of those moments when the city shows its most open and diverse side.
“Soroczyńscy” – Inaugural Exhibition
From May 15, a family art exhibition by the Soroczyński family can be viewed at the new Galeryjka in Sokolnia. The exhibition combines different styles, techniques, and perspectives on art, from mountain landscapes and painterly impressions to more original, experimental visual forms. It is also a symbolic opening of a new cultural space in Zakopane, and the exhibition will remain available until June 20, 2026.
“All the Colors of the World for Ewa. Paintings by Wacław Jagielski”
At Stacja Kultura, you can see an exhibition of paintings by Wacław Jagielski, inspired by light, landscape, and Tatra nature. The works create a calm, reflective atmosphere and allow you to look at the Tatras through the prism of color and emotion. If you plan to visit Zakopane in late spring or early summer, you still have the opportunity to see the exhibition, which will last until June 21, 2026.
“Young Zakopane. Dialogue” Exhibition
From May, Stacja Kultura Zakopane hosts an exhibition presenting a contemporary view of young artists on the culture of Podhale, and it will be available until July 10, 2026. The artists reinterpret regional motifs, combining tradition with modern forms and their own artistic sensitivity. This is a proposal for those who want to see a more modern, sometimes surprising face of Zakopane.
“Jan Kasprowicz – Life and Work – Inspirations” Competition
Since March, a nationwide competition for artistic fabric inspired by the life and work of Jan Kasprowicz has been underway, aimed at both professionals and amateurs. Participants can create works using weaving, embroidery, and lace techniques, and the event is accompanied by additional workshops on textile art. The finale of the initiative will be a post-competition exhibition, and the entire event will last until August 31, 2026.
“Cosmological Notebook” by Tomasz Haładaj
From May 29, an exhibition by Tomasz Haładaj inspired by Władysław Hasior’s famous cosmic performance from years ago can be viewed at the Władysław Hasior Gallery. The artist’s paintings and sculptures refer to extraordinary stories and mysterious phenomena related to the Tatras, showing them in a contemporary interpretation. The exhibition will remain available to visitors until September 29, 2026.
“Jan Kasprowicz. Into the Bonfire. Biographical Impressions” Exhibition
From May 2, the Kornel Makuszyński Museum hosts a special exhibition dedicated to Jan Kasprowicz, prepared for the 100th anniversary of the poet’s death. The exhibition guides visitors through the life and work of the author of the “Hymns”, showing his connections with the Tatras and the symbolism of travel and fire. Visitors will be able to see it until October 10, 2026. This is a proposal for those who want to look at Zakopane from a more reflective and literary perspective.
Vernissage and Exhibition “Underground – A World Torn from Darkness”
The new exhibition at the Tatra Museum takes visitors into the world of the underground, mysterious spaces, and places usually inaccessible to humans. The exhibition combines geological, natural, and historical threads, showing both caves and underground structures, as well as human activity in the hidden world beneath the earth’s surface. It is one of the more unusual proposals of the season, and there will be plenty of time to visit it — the exhibition will remain open until February 28, 2027.
