Zakopane in January and February – what to see and experience?

Zakopane is unique all year round. Every month, the city authorities organize special events for tourists to make their time spent in the capital of the Polish Tatras more pleasant. An unquestionable attraction is certainly the ski jumping World Cup, which attracts crowds of Polish and foreign ski jumpers to the city every year. However, this is not the only event worth coming to Zakopane for. In today’s post, we will present interesting concerts, performances or exhibitions that are worth seeing. Are you curious what, apart from the mountains, Zakopane will offer you? We suggest in the next part of the post. 

January is full of performances, exhibitions and concerts

  • The exhibition “In the world of Władysław Borzęcki. On the 100th anniversary of his    birth” – available until January 14, 2023 at Willa Czerwony Dwór, Kasprusie
  • Arkadiusz Karapud’s exhibition “… also true” – which is available to visitors at the Municipal Art Gallery. Władysław Count Zamoyski on Krupówki Street until January 20, 2023
  • Afterimage – a temporary exhibition at the Władysław Hasior Gallery – which can be seen until January 31, 2023 at the Tatra Museum. Dr. Tytus Chałubiński
  • 14th Festival of Carols, Pastorales and Christmas Songs – we wrote about it in here
  • The show DEMONISM ZAKOPIAŃSKI – which will be played on January 13, 2023 at the Teatr im. Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, Chramcówki
  • Grzegorz Turnau WE WALK AGAIN LiVe – concert at Nosalowy Dwór Resort & SPA, Droga Oswalda Balzera, scheduled for January 19, 2023;

What in February?

 Although January has just begun, people who are going to Zakopane in February should get to know the offer of events that the city has planned for this month. At the moment, tourists, apart from hiking in the mountains, can go to:- a temporary exhibition in the Oksza Hr. Władysław Zamoyski “Bears in Outline”, which will last until February 28, 2023;- an exhibition dedicated to Władysław Werner on the 40th anniversary of his death and the 100th anniversary of his birth: “Władysław Werner. Photographer of the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane”, organized by the Tatra Museum, which presents a fragment of the photographer’s activity. The exhibition can be seen from December 16th 2022 to April 2nd, 2023. We will keep you informed about further events taking place in February. Fans of a good movies are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the offers of Zakopane’s cinemas, which show latest movies for children and adults in January and February, you can find there real gems.
